The blurring of faraway textures element provides the possibility of specifying the faraway texture filtration method. This element is a numeric value asserting itself in an active operation stage of an active object. The element contains a level deciding when a particular minified texture stage (mipmap) should be used.
The default value is 0. After setting a number greater than 0 (including decimal number) smaller textures will be used, resulting in greater blurring of faraway textures. After setting a number smaller than 0 (negative number) larger textures will be used, resulting in greater sharpness of faraway textures. The faraway texture blurring can be set for DirectX 5 through DirectX 8 interfaces only.
